Meet Executive Chef Jeff Corum from Pasta Pomodoro at Upcoming Taste of Newport “Chef’s Cooking Pavilion”

Introducing another addition and local favorite to the line up at the “Chef’s Cooking Pavilion” at the Taste of Newport.

Chef Jeff Corum of Pasta Pomodoro Newport Coast, will share this restaurant belief in modern interpretations of Italian classics. At 8:30 pm on Friday, September 17th you can watch learn and taste some of Jeff’s Ravioli Di Zucca, a roasted butternut squash ravioli with parmesan, brown butter, sage and crumbled amaretti. Jeff has shared his culinary prowess with us at past events and it is a true pleasure to taste his food again.

Pasta Pomodoro is a friendly family restaurant serving fine Italian pasta and seafood in a warm atmosphere. With locations throughout California this restaurant has stuck to their roots in maintaining the same casual, family-friendly atmosphere since their very first restaurant opened in San Francisco in 1994. They believe in options, whether you’re a vegetarian, a carnivore, or an omnivore and believe in using sustainable, natural and organic ingredients as often as possible.

The Newport Beach Restaurant Association sponsors the “Chef’s Cooking Pavilion” Expo, an exclusive Orange County culinary event at the “Taste of Newport” September 17-19, 2010.  The “Chef’s Cooking Pavilion” was “all the buzz” at last year’s Taste of Newport serving up popular 45 minute live cooking demonstrations, free tastings and wine pairings.

The expo features the hottest Newport Beach celebrity chefs as they share their culinary flair for a live audience to taste and enjoy throughout the three day event. This complimentary culinary expo is a unique opportunity to personally meet the hottest Newport Beach celebrity chefs as they engage with local foodies and cook up some of their most sought after dishes and secret recipes.

Weekend Brunches in Newport Beach

Sunday Fundays are all the rage in Newport Beach but Saturdays and Sundays should be treated equally at these premier Newport Restaurants. 3-Thirty-3, Sol Cocina, The Alley and Newport Landing in Newport Beach offer killer breakfast options for a fun Weekend Brunch experience.

3-Thirty-3 stunned us all when they first introduced a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar to Newport Beach. This has since become legendary and loved by locals and visitors alike. Pair that with a build-your-own gourmet burrito and you will enjoy spending your day belly-up in the sun.

While Sol Cocina is the new kid on the block when it comes to brunch offerings, their one of a kind Top Chef menu and build your own Margarita Brunch is quite the way to make your brunch an interactive experience. We have never heard of a build-your-own Margarita bar but we sure are willing to give it a go! Our Sombrero’s are tipped to Sol for bringing something fresh to Newport Beach.

Known by locals for their $10 bottomless champagne  and classic brunch offerings, The Alley is the Newport Beach locals favorite. With an entire menu that is pocket friendly, 2 patio options and a comfy dining room, this laid back atmosphere this is not your typical “Newport” establishment. We suggest you try the build your own burrito and build your own omelet… and the champagne of course!

Looking for the best buffet brunch in Newport? Try Newport Landing. With an entire room of food from sushi, carving stations, omelet stations and and entire 10 foot table of desserts this amazing brunch puts the Wow factor in your dining experience. Top that with an awesome view and bottomless champagne and this brunch is the grand daddy of brunches.
